Solitary rectal ulcer syndrome.

A 19 year female came with the complaints of rectal bleeding, constipation, griping abdominal pain and mucous discharge per rectum. Abdomen was tender on examination. Digital rectal examination in the squatting position revealed unterior rectal wall prolapse to the anal verge. Sigmoidoscopy and biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of Solitary Rectal Ulcer (S.R.U.) Syndrome.

Solitary rectal ulcer syndrome(SRUS)은 1830년 Cruveilhier에 의해 처음 기술된 이후 1969년 Madigan과 Morson에 의 해 병리 소견이 연구되었다 1) . 젊은 성인에서 가장 빈도가 높으 며 2, 3) , 성별에 따른 빈도의 차이는 없거나, 일부 보고에서 여성 에 더 많은 것으로 알려져 있다 2, 4) . 아직 소아에 있어서 빈도에 관한 정확한 조사는 없으며, 다만 소아기에 매우 드문 질환으로 만 알려져 있고 소아의 SRUS에 대한 연구는 아직 소수에서 되 어있을 뿐이다 5-7) . 증상으로는 직장출혈, 점액성의 분비물, 긴 배 변시간, 뒤무직, 회음부의 국소적 통증을 주로 나타내며 5-10) , 일 반적으로 시행하는 검사에서 정상 소견을 보여 종종 오...
